Building 201 design build renovation focused on revitalizing and reimagining existing spaces through thoughtful design and skilled craftsmanship. This process involved assessing the current layout, of restrooms, common areas and conference rooms enhancing functionality, and improving while preserving the building's character and functionality of the spaces.
DESIGN BUILD
SUMMARY
Building 201, US Army acquisition support center, is an existing, building located at Ft. Belvoir. This current facility includes offices, conference rooms, breakrooms, bathrooms, and related support areas.
BEI provided all materials, labor, equipment, transportation, and services to design and build
- A Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility and Secret VTC Facility (SCIF) of office space.
- Conference room renovations to include a new wall system, in basement of Building to have a 45 STC at minimum for sound transmission between the inside and outside.
- Install rough‐ins for security systems.
- Upgrade office space for an open storage secret area for use as a secure VTC and SIPR net area. This area was built to DODM 5200.01 V3 specs.
All work met or exceeded Army regulations, Unified Facility Criteria (UFCs), Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), International Building Code (IBC), State and local codes, industry standards and the attached Sustainable Design Elements. Contractor shall comply with all applicable codes for DoD facilities as stated in UFC 1‐200‐01, General Building Requirements.
